VEHICLE REGISTRATION

FIRST REGISTRATION

Requirements:

• Zambia Revenue Authority Customs Clearance Certificate/e-Redbook;

• ZRA receipt;

• Customs declaration form CE 20;

1. Release order;

• Interpol clearance certificate is K200

• RTSA physical inspection report and receipt copy at a fee of K64

• Copy of identity of  owner or certificate of incorporation;

• Insurance certificate or cover note copy;

• Customs Clearance Certificate confirmation schedule;

• Form CNV1; 

• Form RL3

•  Payable Fee is K238

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

Requirements:

•  Letter of sale/Donation;

• Zambia Revenue Authority tax clearance certificate for change of ownership;

• Copy of Identity for both the buyer and the seller –NRC copy or Certificate of registration or incorporation;

• Original motor vehicle or trailer registration certificate;

•  RTSA physical inspection report at fee of K64

•  Police report from anti-theft of motor vehicle department;

•  General affidavit;

•  Change of ownership certificate;

• Form MVR 1 [signed by both parties-seller and buyer];

• Fee payable is K476

NOTE: The motor vehicle must have valid road worthiness certificate and road tax. Insurance also ceases after change of ownership.

CHANGE OF MOTOR VEHICLE AND TRAILER PARTICULARS

Requirements:

• Original motor vehicle or trailer registration certificate;

• General affidavit;

•  RTSA physical inspection report at a fee of K64

• Police report from the anti-theft of motor vehicles department [for an engine sold and removed from an already registered motor vehicle and any other changes];

•  Interpol clearance certificate for imported engine sold by spare parts dealers;

• Receipt by spare part dealer;

• Copy of identity of registered owner or certificate of incorporation;

• Form MVR 2;

• Fees payable is K 238 for new registration certificate and for every change K65.

 REPLACEMENT OF REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE [DUPLICATE]

Requirements:

• RTSA physical inspection report at a fee of K64;

•  Police report from the anti-theft of motor vehicle department;

• General affidavit;

• Copy of identity of registered owner or certificate of incorporation;

• Form MVR 2;

• Fee payable is K238.

ADDITION OF TITLE HOLDER [ABSOLUTE OWNER]

Requirements:

• Original motor vehicle or Trailer registration certificate;

• Copy of identity card or certificate of incorporation of registered owner;

• Copy of identity card or certificate of incorporation of new absolute owner;

• Letter of consent by current and absolute owner;

• Letter of interest by the Bank/Financial Institution/interested party;

• Form MVR2;

• Fee per motor vehicle is K477

AMENDMENT OR REMOVAL OF ABSOLUTE OWNER

Requirements:

• Original motor vehicle or Trailer registration certificate;

•  Copy of identity card or certificate of incorporation of registered owner;

• Copy of identity card or certificate of incorporation of absolute owner;

• Letter of notification on expiration of interest by the Bank/Financial Institution/interested party;

• Form MVR2;

• Fee per motor vehicle is K477

VANITY (PERSONALISED) REGISTRATION

Requirements:

• Original motor vehicle or trailer registration certificate;

• Physical inspection Report at a fee of K64

• Zambia Police Anti-Motor Vehicle Theft Clearance Report;

• General affidavit;

• Copy of identity of current and absolute owner or certificate of incorporation;

• Vanity application form;

• Payable fee is K 9,406
